When I hit the gas and the transmission switches to 2nd gear (auto) ..there is a slight vibration (low frequency) that I can feel all over the truck. Has anyone hear of this type of problem before?

Emilio,
Hehe--funny how Discos are so similar. Mine (98) started doing the same thing a little while ago. It happens only at the low end of 2nd (10-15 mph), and it's kind of like a shudder. I don't know what the fix is. I had the trans fluid changed, and that helped slightly, but it's still there.

have heard where the rotoflex had worn out (cracked/ripped) in some cases similar to this.

Good idea, Garrett--except that the 98s have u-jointed driveshafts. And my u-joints are new all around. My thought was that it was transmission related since it doesn't happen at other rpms/speeds. Perhaps slightly worn driveshaft splines or pinion bearings? (none of these have obvious play in them on my truck)

Tate try the pull one shaft and drive around test.
