anyone experience this one? if I flash the high-beams or turn the headlights on you hear a pop out of the subwoofer and at the same time speedo goes to 0 for a split second and radio goes off then comes back on .when I tried this at idle the idle dropped way down stalled restarted it and had to keep foot on the gas to keep it running left it alone came out started it and ran fine.
has anyone experienced this and what was the cure? (96 disco)
thanks

Pop the cover on the main power distribution box behind the battery. it's probable that the fuse link for the alternator (it's the 100A one in the front) is loose. Under heavy load, the resistance goes up and the voltage goes down which will cause all sorts of electrical weirdness to happen.

Also, if this is the case, you're in the process of melting down all the plastic around the fuse link. Back when your (and mine) '96 was new, several fires were caused by this. They were left loose at the factory (the Brit way of welcoming the pending BMW purchase of LR, no doubt...)
