I just put on aftermarket cats on my 96 . The smog laws state that they must be OEM ( new or rebuilt). I building a skid plate to cover most of the view to the cats. I have only owned this truck for three weeks. Are the Smog cops that up to date on what a rover cat looks like?

now tell me the good news - which aftermarket cats fit between the oil pan and framerails of the disco (or rangie)?

Peter thanks for the encouragement. The cats are on a disco with a ZF. They are a pair of Catco high flow universal style . Part # 6005. There only 59.99 ea from Summit. The rover cats are X10$$!

Hooked her up to a old 4 gas analyzer and the output was very clean. Cali Smog check in two weeks !

Shoot!!! I just had one of my cat (dinged off-road) with a high-flow and resonators out with a straight pipe. Next year hence will be my finest hour for the smog test.
