I have purchased an OME med duty kit (springs, shocks, catsers ansd steering dampener). I am going to install it myself soon. It has the uneven springs (it hasn't been sorted). I ordered (4) 10MM spacers to get a little more lift out of it.
I am considering putting the spacers on the passenger side only to level it out, or even ordering one or two more spacers and putting one spacer on all springs and an extra on the front passenger side OR both passenger side springs.
I want some advice on a few things:
Will I adversely affect in any way the safety or handling by doing any of the above?
Is it ok to stack these spacers (use more than one per spring)?
The rear springs do not seem to have as much of a difference between drivers and passenger springs - if this is the case - should I order just one more spacer for the front passenger side (giving it 20MM lift and 10MM on all others)?
Note: I am a big guy (6'5" 250lbs) so a little bit of extra boost on the driver's side might be a good thing.
Also: is there anyone out there that has the same problem and would like to trade me their driver side spring for my passenger side?
Thanks in advance,
Marc

Also guys,
I want to run the tallest tires I can on this suspension without doing any trimming (or very minor trimming). Any suggestions - I am thinking tall and not necessarily wide - maybe 215/85-16?

Read the thread "I dont get it"(Suspension)
That will give you insight to your effort. Out of that thread you will see its a get there, see what you got and adjust accordingly. Nature of the beast. You should only use 1 spacer on top, 1 spacer on the bottom. As far as problems, the Ome lift you have is very safe being under 2" lift. Trimming with that size tire depends on if you remove sway bars when wheeling, then you may need a slight rear wheel well trim at the rear, maybe not. Your truck will let you know. Overall with the lift you have, its pretty safe.

OK - here is my next question - when it says PS and DS, are they talking American or Euro PS/DS? Which side do I put the short spring on?
Note: same question posted under the thread John refers to above.

Marc,
I will trade you my PS for your DS springs. OME MD f&R.

Passenger Side and Drivers Side are just that. Not "Left" and "Right". Put the DS springs on the side with the steering wheel.
As for trimming with 215/85R16. I had to do just a little after putting on OME MD springs. There is a pic in my photo gallery.

Jeff,
I know what the passenger side and driver side of my vehicle are. However, these are Australian springs made for a British car. I understand from another thread that the same spec product is sent to us as is sent to europe. I think it is reasonable, then, to wonder if perhaps they are mis-labeled when we get them.
Read the post titled "I don't get it (suspension)" or something like that.

Marc, the DS spring goes on the same side as the steering wheel, regardless of what side of the vehicle that is on.
You can always call the ARB tech support line in Seattle.

DS is right side. The spring difference is not for the driver..

Like I tried to explain. You are buying D90 springs and putting them on a Disco/RR. D90s have a weight imbalance due to the gas tank. The correct set up would be to get identical springs left to right and deal with a bit of a lean. The OME (generally) are way over compensated.

With the DS spring on the drivers (left) side, the truck is slightly higher on the left when empty and level when there is someone in the seat.
I guess I don't see the problem.

yes marc, it's endless. the more you know, the less you realize you actually know.
just put a couple packers on and under the coils and get it level.

The trucks lean with or without somone in the seat. well , unless you are a big ole bastard. I am 230 and mine leans with or without me in there. I have the RT springs now and it did the same when I had the OME. The ome did have more lean to it no doubt. But it always leaned to that right side..

ever thought of the possibility that the Disco is straight and you're the crooked one?

LOL ,I am partially twisted , there is no doubt , but I have measures the truck with each spring change and it leans. I know plenty of others that have the same thing going on

Hi all,
Hi Marc,
I have just a little question for you.
You say in your first post that you have ordered 10MM spacers.
I am really interested in that. Could you please tell me where you have ordered these ?
Thank you very much for this info.
Regards to all.
Erik.
