I just started compiling my recovery kit and I need a tree saver. I saw on 4x4 Connection they have a 3"x6' tree saver for 15 bucks. I have been REALLY looking at this. But, is only 6 foot long enough? Should I get the 15 footer? I will be wheelin' in North Carolina, so the trees don't get that big, or do they!!??

Another question is: Is there any way to shorten a long recovery strap? I heard that you can, but I don't know how. Thanks in advance.

6' long tree saver has served me fine all these years (actually I have 2 of them). I've been meaning to p/u a 10 footer for a while, but have not gotten around to it.

As to shortening a recovery strap, why would you want to fk with that? Just go to pep boys and buy one in the length you want.

Alex

Fold it in half.

No seriously pep boys sells 3" x 30' straps for $60, rated 30,000 lb.

Dean,

I bought a recovery strap from 4x4 Connection when it was at the Uhwarrie Safari for $47. It is 3"x30' and it didn't have hooks on the end.
