I was just reading a thread that said "most people that are on this board probably don't take their Disco's off-road."

Now I'm curious how many of you are mall crawlers, and how many aren't.

I wheel mine, anyone else ? he he he

I take mine off road but, nothing very hard core yet as I'm still learning what it is that I'm doing. Mostly easy trails with a few difficult spots that I can use to learn on. It's hard to find people to help you and give you a little on trail schooling when they want to wheel and don't want to take all day with the new guy. Plus, I go wheeling with mostly a jeep club so they pick on me a little. Most times I just follow a little bit behind and see what line the guy/girl took in front of me and then look to see if there is a better one. I do take it off road though and I got some nice scratches to prove it.

look at the photo galleries. the better question is who doesn't.

As of a month ago, I do. And will. My guess is that folks who frequent this site either do or want to. As far as who doesn't, Tom, there are many lost souls out there that haven't found this site yet or just simply aren't "that type". I gotta admit, off-roading is one of the most immediately addicting things I've run across. Not that I've run across that many you understand.

Gettin' the shakes, need mud.

Well, sometimes I HAVE to drive onroad, but I make it a habit to do so as little as possible ... i.e. alternate routes: sidewalks, various landscape, school yards, etc. :)

Kim
Seriously, I'm (obviously) no hardcore - I just love a little fun traveling to different places that often require 4 wheel drive to get there.

Once every 2 weeks or so, so far the pine barrens (coz that's where I live near). Prefer mud puddling.

the grassy bit between the road and the flat bit getting to the gas pump at the local exxon. (just the right side tires thank fully!) nearly hit a shrubbery!

I do...despite the fact that there are no other modified Discos that I know of in my area or Rover clubs. I have never even seen a lifted Discovery besides the one I drive to work everyday. There is one wrecked Range Rover Classic that has been at the dealer for 4 months with a Safari Gard lift, but I have never met the guy who owns it. The closest legal place to go, Haspin Acres, is only about an hour away though.

had my temporary tags when I first took mine offroad - need to raise them right from the start :)

The wrecked RR classic wouldn't happen to be at LR Cincinnati would it? Or is just that $G equipment ... wouldn't want to start that again.

I have had mine three months or so and been in the dirt several times not counting typical camping stuff and that is on lousy AT tires.

Springs and tires on the way, headed to Solaros.

Yes, the wrecked RR classic is at Cincinnati. It is red with 265/75s. It has a Safari Gard front bumper and rock sliders, and 3 Hella Rallye 4000s. It looks to be almost fixed now but when it was first there the front left tire was shoved back into the fender.

I wish I had known to look and see if that a busted $G 3 link that went.

Cheryl told the owner was driving it when it happened, bought it used.

There will soon be at least one modified Disco in you general vicinity. I ordered springs for RTE monday, tire next, then ...

Must happen often because that ranger was on his little quad waiting for us.

We still get one of our biggest laughs yet reminiscing about a time (about 10 years ago) when 2 of our friends inadvertantly drove out into a very live bombing/weapons testing range (they were areospace scientist/engineers). Took GPS with them every time from then on :)
