Are the springs on my disco actually longer on the left or the right side??? It looks like there is a difference in the winds on the two sides???

Yup,
They are that way to compensate for the weight of the driver only. If you have a passenger, it will lean slightly to that side.
Crazy huh?
Clint
ps intersting to see that you actually got down there and counted coils.

In Britain, they prefer rovers to look good while driving rather than parked. They have right hand drive, the transfer case is on the right and fuel tanks used to be on the right so they compensated for the extra weight on the right by using a longer spring for the right. When they import them to the states, they import only left hand drive cars so they switch the springs. But since the transfercase doesn't move and the fuel tank is now in the center it really isn't necessary.

I once put over 300 pounds of weight on the drivers side to see if it made a difference in how the car sits and it only lowered the ride height by 1/2" on the drivers side, measuring from wheel center to top of wheel well. Since U.S. vehicles are higher on the drivers side by about an inch it would take one heavy driver on to level the car while driving.

If you ever plan to get a lift, get the rovertym springs. They will make your truck sit level, i just got a set myself. I don't really like the leaning that the stock, OME, and Bearmach springs have built in. for one thing it looks stupid, and for another i always had more tire rub on one side when at full articulation.

Great Basin Rovers sells OME in matched lengths.
You either get two driverside or two pasenger side. I don't know of any other OME vendors who do this.

Al,
How do you like your springs so far. Are they the 2" or 3"? Are they overly stiff in the rear?
I'm going to be buying some in a few weeks myself and i'm torn between OME mediums or Roverym custom made for a 1" lift which will actually be 1 1/2".
Thanks for any input
Cal

Cal, I haven't put the springs on yet. Will probably be a while, but since I live 30 minutes from Rovertym, John let me drive his truck. It rides much better than my OME 751/763 combo. He's working on a different spring rate, so you might want to call and ask about that. Probably post a review on my site once I get the shit on.
