I have a 95 Disco andd I have noticed a pinging noise when I put my Dico in reverse from drive and when it shifts into first and second gears, and sometimes when I put it into drive. I have read ealier posting that this is normal, but it seems to be getting worse. Has anyone had the same problem an knows how to fix it? I live in the Denver area so I also need a recommendation for a good mechanic.

Thanks,
Jeoffrey

Try Dave's European over off of Iliff at 303.337.1803. Seems he used to be at Rover East, and certainly helped me with a few.

Thanks, I had it checked out and it is considered normal. These transfer boxes get noisy when they get older.

Wow, maybe I can forward this to my girlfriend so she won't roll her eyes every time I say something about getting that lift put in.
"I think I just heard a clunk, honey. Did you hear that?"
