?? What happened to the thread with 40 or so messages in it that was here yesterday? Weird - just 2 messages in there today. Is Discus acting up?

Well, I had my corrosion inspection today. They will fix all the door skins, as well as the hood, even though I never had a corrosion inspection before.

What pisses me off is they won't fix any of the important stuff - rust at the raingutter welds, sills, or c-pillars. They claim that this is covered under the vehicle warranty, which is now long gone.

Has anyone had luck getting them to fix that kind of stuff under the corrosion warranty? Thanks

Alex

Not sure where the original thread went, but hopefully it's still here somewhere. Archived maybe? What do you guys think about e-mailing LRNA and attaching a link to this website/thread just to give them a taste of just how many people are having problems with rust? (as if they didn't know)It might get us some attention. I still haven't heard back from them about mine.

All you have to do is scroll through the list. It is about half way down......

LRNA is well aware of the rust issue. There is currently a class action lawsuit in progress so they are not responding to any individual correspondence.

Have a look around at web for info on the suit.

Good luck, LR's have had a history of rusting for 40+ years, I don't think anything will come of the suit personally.

hadaz,

Yeah, I saw it, but it only has 2 messages in it. The original had nearly 50, and it seems to be gone. Maybe it did get archinved, dunno, didn't check there. (shame shame I know)

You're right, nothing will come of the suit. I got in touch with the law firm that initiated the class action, and they informed that the case was dismissed by a Maryland judge. Something about not being able to form a class because the cause of the rust was different for all the plaintiffs. Bullshit.

Keep DiscoWeb out of it. We do not want to be sucked into any legal issues. Whatever you do on your own is your business, but leave DiscoWeb out of it, please.

Alex,

Are you the original owner? If not, did the dealership have any record of any other service work? What state do you live in? I'm trying to fight the "no inspection = no coverage" battle right now and it doesn't look good.

I am not an orignal owner. It looks like the car came out of AZ then went to Chicago now it is with me in Utah. I am having mine checked out to see if there was any inspection done.

Yeah, I am the original owner. The last dealer servicing the vehicle had was the 30K service, which the dealership fucked up big time, and I've never taken it back since. I never had a corrosion inspection, and the did not mention that at all, and, of course, neither did I. I'm in Illinois.

I pulled the LRNA rap sheet on my `96 today and found 6 pages of service and warranty work from the previous NYC owner. Not a single record of a corrosion inspection which is bit surprising given the location and the amount of time it spent at the dealer. I think this 'no inspection = no coverage' is a bit of a bluff and would be surprised if LRNA keeps any regular record of these inspections. More than likely, settling this on a one-to-one basis will net better results than any joint effort.

With regard to the "missing thread", it kinda makes me wonder if there's a "mole" in our midst. Could it be that there is someone on this website that works for LRNA that is conspiring to cover up problems? Maybe I watch too much X-Files...

David

P.S. Being "snuffed" by The DiscoWeb Team kinda makes me wonder too...

Please, get real David. Do you think DiscoWeb is this huge organization with millions of venture dollars behind it? I wish... The truth is that none of us works for LRNA, and there is no conspiracy. We simply stated that we want no part of any legal issues. If you wish to take on LRNA on your own, go ahead. The 3 of us who runs DiscoWeb has no desire to be a part of it, for the simple reason that we have neither the time or the resources. Simple as that. Now is that so difficult to comprehend?

and what did you drop in your eye David? I have a small spot of rust in my rear left door jam and have an appointment with my dealer on Monday ... will let you know what happens.

Geez, can't take a joke... Sorry if you took me seriously.

David

P.S. Going to call LRNA this week and ask "whazzup?". I'll let y'all know what happens.
