I think it would be a mistake for me to buy a factor brush bar when in two months I will die without a RTE bumper. But at first I thought I would buy the brush bar and be happy. And now I believe the bumper is the way to go. can I hear about other mistakes that should be avoided by newer modifiers! Thanks Mike

Well , I see one problem already. Think need before want. You will make clearer decisions.

I bought the wrap around brush bar when I got my Disco in 98 along with the tail light and bumper light gards. I wanted some recovery points in the front and a place to put some extra lights. If I could do it again I probably would have just gotten some jate rings for the front and put the lights onto the bumper. Now I'm thinking about getting a winch since I will be adding a lift soon and the more I learn how to offroad the better chance I have of really getting my self stuck and needing one to get myself out. I would wait and get the RTE bumper or Kyle's "sexygard" bumper once they and you are ready.

Aside from brush bar/light protector things, another major money mistake can be to install lockers without gears or gears without lockers. You end up paying for the same install twice. On the same note, lockers usually require other upgrades to axles and/or CV joints.

Like Kyle said, wheel as much as possible stock and see what you need and in what order. Depending on where you wheel and who you wheel with, you may be fine stock. This way you save money and don't repeat purchases.

Something you can do to your disco that is totally free is remove the front air dam and cut down those endcaps.
