I am a new owner of a 96 disco cd and it has a bent lower hinge on the rear door. The previous owner backed into a tree .? How can one remove the hinge? Is it possible to remove one half (the half attached to the door frame is bent. I believe that if I can remove the half I could bent it back . I would appreciate any info you could offer. Barry

according to the service manual it is just a matter of unbolting the hinges. They say in there if you remove the whole door that you would need 2 people to complete the job. I would think that just as a precaution before you remove the hinge you should look for a way to help support the weight of the door besides just the one hinge.

Honestly you're best off replacing it as the hinge is weakened by being bent. They only cost about $40 each, paint over the primer with a zinc based primer before finishing
