I have the safari 5000 fog lights on the front of my car now and they are not what i want of need. They are too weak and i dont drive in the fog. I am looking for a light that will shoot as far out as possible in front of my car. I am just looking for distance. I have 4 hella 4000 euro beams on top of my car so it floods the front area pretty good but i want something to shoot out beyond that. What recomendations do you have and where can i get them.

Andrew,
Don't mean to sound like a magpie, but what are you doing with the Safari 5000's ?
Looking for a set of lights, if you choose to sell 'em, let me know how much.
Also - how do you find the Hella 4000's ? I am thinking of buying a pair of Rallye 4000 for the front of my Disco, wanted to know if they're a good choice.
Need to use them for on / off road.

Hella 4000's Euro's are nice. I have a pair on my front ARB bumper. Don't use them on road. Mine are rotated downward for onroad so I don't blind people and they are STILL too bright for highway use etc. Keep them for offroad use only. I got flashed so many times it wasn't funny. On the way to RoverFest 2001 in Killington VT, this past weekend, I tried them out on a winding road and actually they kept me from hitting a mother and calf MOOSE on the right side of the road. WHEW. First time I've ever seen moose in the wild.

Two choices:
1. Hella HID in Pencil for $1800pr.
2. LightForce 240RMDL for $250pr.
Both will light up the width of a road at a mile. The lightforce can also be changed to flood, spot, or other light pattern. They are BIG though.
Another option is the PIAA 80 racing series, but it doesn't produce as much light as the other two. Its pretty large and has a VERY sharp beam.
Good luck,
-P

Speaking of hella 4000s, who sells the 130w bulbs for these? Also, I have one hella 4000 euro with a city light (2nd light bulb mounted in the lower half of the reflector), wonder if I could put a 130 in the center and a 100 or 55 in the bottom? Each light is mounted independently with its own relay so no worries of frying that wiring, but the light itself, i dont know. Hmm...

Hands down winner, and the most bang for your buck as far as distance is concerned is the big Lightforce RMDL240, I have 3 on my DII.
