When we were packing up at Bear Mtn Lodge Sunday, we found that someone had left behind, sitting in the middle of the parking lot, a fish tank(!)
It was about one gallon sized, and had two Goldfish in it. It also had a pump attached. The fish are alive and well..... :)

I think this thread belongs in the Classified section :) Do the fish have names?

I know who owns the fish!!!
They were staying in the Mountain Sports Inn...that's where we were.

They were driving a AA yellow 89? Rangie!!

Their names were Jeremia and Amy and their daughter Valerie..

My wife even remembers (don't ask me how??) the fish's names...
Sylvie & Goldie...

They made quite an impression on us because they put the Dog with a friend, left food with the cat, but brought the damn fish!!

Axel...where are the fish now??

Someone should get in touch with WCRC.
And get this message to them...

Actually, I think this thread belongs in a new section -- "For Ransom" :(

Last I heard was that Thom from Killington was going to keep the fish for a week or so, and if nobody claims them, they will be donated to the Childrens Hospital up there. Pat Macomber or Mike Ladden should know for sure, though.

Hey, at least the fish didn't get stolen unlike everything else the wasn't welded down. Maybe they were affraid to bring the cat and dog as the cat would eat the fish, the dog would eat the cat, and then someone would steal the dog.

Maybe they were stolen and dumped once the thieves realized they weren't genuine LR products and would only fetch couple of $ on the street. Genuine LR goldfish are known to go for up to 1 DSU.

Eric, what do you mean "got stolen". What was stolen? I left my tools out all weekend and even let some guys use the tools that were in my Rover and everything was returned.

Let us know.

Wow, I didn't read that thread...Well I can tell you that it probably did happen at the Grand since I left my RR with the Hella covers on and two shackles and a tow strap attached. I even left the Rangie open with all my tools and stuff. When we got back from the uhhh dinner, yeah dinner the only guys up around the campfire where the younger guys (guy towing the Series I with the Van from Long Island).

Funny thing is that Frank left his wallet in his open D90 with around $400 and Marty convinced him to go back and get it.

That's low. I'm up for some linching...

yeah i never went to the dinner.....went to Casey's Caboose for dinner with a couple in the stock white DI and then headed back to the camp site. only folks there were the large group of RR folks around the bonfire. i was there and then Marty, Allison and the crew towing the series that rolled on the trials course come back later. but no one mentioned anything about gear being stolen.
and thanks for calling us the 'younger' crowd. been a while since i've been called that.
marty was a little afraid to be leaving all his gear in his truck unattendand as well, but nothing was taken. most of his stuff was left at the site anyhow. he had mentioned what happened last year.
i guess that 85 year old security guard in the CR-V would have scared anyone off anyhow!! :) i actually almost gave him a heart attact that night......he was watching tv at the bar and i walked up behind him to ask about vending machines.

Sorry to hear about shit getting stolen ,but I had my truck parked at the Grand on and off during the whole weekend and nothing was taken . Some tools ,amps ,Piaa lights in pretty much plain sight .A few or one bad apple(s) ..... they definately need to be set straight, But rover fest was not like an urban parking lot and I hope that this wouldn't deter anyone from going next year.

i just didn't have anything they would want. actually i didn't have anything they could have taken. my truck was unlocked the entire time at the camping area. but that is different. doesn't deter me at all. makes me want to go even more and help those that did get stuff taken and find the little thieving shits that took their gear.

I spoke with Jerimiah this morning, the fish were not left behind, they were spared an adventure on the trials course! They are now safely at home.

Funny thing, I was thinking about those fish this morning! I guess the family must have thought they'd been fishnapped. Maybe they need to make their next mod a fish tank leveling device, so the fish can slog along.

Karen ;)
