Was it just me or did anybody else cringe when they butchered that poor Series 109 to make a damn boat on Junk Yard Wars last night. Great show but please ... spair the healthy Rovers that can be restored.

Almost makes you want to cry, then again its the UK, there are tons of those things over there.
I wish I had such a well stocked junkyard!

It seems like they are always using old Rovers or their engines to make boats, amphicars, or anything else they have to.

That's cause even when they are junked you can still get them to run.

just goes to show, good solid transportation. it also goes a long way in explaining why the vast majority of the world chooses a land rover vs. other manufacturers.

Think about it... LRs in Britain are like J**ps over here (with how many are here). There are a lot more j**ps here than LRs, so we don't feel bad about Goldberg (monster truck) running over them. But when a rare Land Rover ends up on the wrong end of a tire, then we cry. Same deal over there, exept backwards. Oh yea, they haven't figured out monster trucks (I think)

Also, think about the stuff they find there, good LRs. You don't find working vehciles in junkyards. You also don't find good hydraulic cylinders, bikes, motercycles, tarps, metal, and piping just "there". I think they put the stuff there. Still, it is cool to see what they do with it.
