Okay, I'm the one who won the auction at the end of RoverFest for the D2 Adventure Rack. Thanks to DiscoWeb for the old thread on fitting the D2 rack to the D1.

I'm just sending this in to reiterate that it is possible to fit the D2 Adventure Rack from Land Rover and made by Safety Devices onto a Disco Series One.

It's a very simple install really and one that we did behind The Grand Hotel the morning after the banquet. Myself, Drew, Tony and Brian opened the cardboard box and uncrated the one-piece rack.

The hardest part of fitting the rack is actually getting it over the truck and onto the rain gutters. The rack has four pairs of mounting points, the front and rear points just fit on the D1 gutters, so you don't have to worry much about measuring it up.

The rearmost pair of points were actually slightly too narrow and we had to take the rack off and torque it by hand. After putting it back up, we just massaged the mounting points into place and clamped it down with the included hardware.

Very simple and very good-looking.
