Follow-up to "No power to fuel pump" | 2 | 08/21 04:43am |

I just replaced the fuel pump in my 95 Disco due to symtoms of increased miss and cutting out. New pump wouldn't work with switch on and couldn't crank. Checked for voltage and found that the green wire had 5 volts and the guage worked, but no voltage on the black or white wires. Traced back to connector at rear wheel well, same story. Checked 15 amp fuse for fuel pump under hood and found 12.8 volts. Checked wiring harness in left luggage wall just inside rear door area. Found 100 amp fuse and 5 volts to that point. Left rear fog ligt not working. Traced wiring harness from wheel well to 100 amp fuse and found that the left side rear fog light did not have voltage and was, according to ohm meter, connected to same wiring as fuel pump. Where could I be loosing the power.
P.S. I have also, prior to changing the fuel pump, had the alternator checked and it checked OK.

Sounds silly but did you check the inertia switch?

If you are referring to the wreck sensor, yes. I pushed on the top of the rubber button, but it was already down as should be. I checked the voltage here as well though and it was less than a volt.
