I've got this old, old (13 yrs) pair of Carrello Rally Lights that have fallen into disrepair (rusty housing, broken clips, etc). I would like to fix them up or replace them altogether.

Do any of you know if Carrellos are still being made and where I can get them in the US?

Thanks

Wow, I haven't heard that name in over 15 years...I used to have them on a CJ5 down in South America...

Don't know where they sell them, sorry.

Good luck.

CARRELLO'S !!???!

Jeez - I got those on my vintage Alfa's. That was some hot stuff.....in 1958.

All kidding aside - yes, I think the factory is still around. I seem to remember seeing recent Italian vehicles with OEM Carrello lights and light covers. If you do a Goggle search, you get a bunch of hits in Italian...

Carrello means Basket in Italian so you'll get a lot of hits that have nothing to do with the lights.

For us Carrellos were the Hella equivalents (cheaper than Hellas).

1958?

C'mon now! ;)

I have the Carellos mounted on the bumper of my 1986 VW GTI. It looked rather aggressive when the lights were still in good condition. I would like to restore them - any ideas on how?

Thanks again

"I would like to restore them - any ideas on how? "

It depends - to you speak Italian ?? Gradite fare l' amore alla vostra sorella ? :)

I think Carello is a division of {gasp} Magneti-Marelli (cross yourselves, children - the horror). You can try http://www.magnetimarelli.net - their JavaScript keeps crashing Netscape so I can't see if there's a link to anything - try looking under body components.

BTW,

Like MR. Browne said, but a bit different....

My headlights have the "Land Rover" logo in the center, and then down in the corner they say CARELLO....
