i have a '95 disco with new front rotors and pads. these were put on by an authorized lr dealer. i have noticed a squeeking on the left side, especially loud when the truck is really hot. i took off the wheel and noticed that the caliper seems to be too close to the rotor. it looks like the caliper pistons are not retreating back into their homes... :-)
is there a lubricant that is safe to apply to the pistons?
i already tried gunk brake cleaner (nasty stuff) which worked for about half a day.

thanks,
kevin

forgot to mention that the inside of the rotor (closost to the hub) has a bit more wear than the outside of the rotor, due to the excessive drag.

If they will not retreat into their bores, I´m afraid they won´t respond too well on lubricating the piston. Try it, and if it does not work (never worked on any car for me), you're into a caliper overhaul (i.e. new pistons and seals). You´ll do it in a saturday. Chk my site for details.
Hope this helps!
