I see all these pictures of you crazy guys running your Discos in water up to your door handle. So does the weather striping REALLY hold that much water out or does water get inside the truck, and if so, how do you protect the carpet, electronics, seats, and so on. Does anyone have a full rubber floor mat instead of carpet.

Just curious, so I know what to expect should I ever need to cross water.

in short if you keep going water finds it far more difficult to get in. Stop and after a few minutes water will break through.
It helps to put duck tape over the split in the seal at the bottom of the door.
I certainly had some water in my truck after its recent swim (see news)wher I had to stop for several minutes rather than roll
