Has anyone put spacers on the swaybar brackets to decrease angle after lifting. Ordered RT 2" with frnt & rear arms still scratching head wether to keep sways on or add spacers. Going to retain springs.
If someone has put spacers on if you raise it 2" do you put a 2" spacer on.
Thanks

Micheal,

I am running the RT 2" springs (stiffer version) and cones on a 95 Disco with both front and rear sway bars attached. I haven't done the rear links or front arms yet but I have not had to add any spacers to keep the sway bars and have had no problems with clearance with the front drive shaft - I know a buddy of mine had to add a spacer for the 3" lift for front drive shaft clearance. It works great for on road but you definitely need to disconnect for any kind of articulation off road. I am going to be adding disconnects instead of using the wrench method when I get around to it - going with Aedofab. Alot of people are running without the sway bars but I prefer to keep mine on for better handling on the road.

Take off the rear swaybar.

MTB -

You won't have any issue with the rear sway bar. I have the 3" lift with RT trailing links and it works fine. Also, there is nothing else that is put in its way due to your lift.

However, you MAY hit the front. I know for my 3" lift with front radius arms, the front driveshaft basically was rubbing on the sway bar all the time. For your setup, you may only rub at full drop of the front end. An example of this is a situation in which you get high centered and your front wheels drop all the way down to the full extension of your shocks. My buddy with a Rangie with the RT 2" lift has this issue right now. Also - the stock shaft is pretty skinny. If you upgrade to a heavier duty or CV version you will scrape sooner because they are thicker.

Here's a pic to show what I am talking about...

extend

In this pic, my front shocks are fully extended as my front end is being held up by a bumper jack.
You can see the extension and in the upper right hand corner how the shaft is just about to hit the sway bar (which is currently disconnected at the ball-joints).

Hope this helps...

Tom

Tom yes that helped. I quess when everything is on I'll jack it up and see. I will be running RT's RR4 front & RR3 rear I would take the sways off but concerned about highway ride 65-75mph. Since everyones Disco acts different I play around and see what happens. Sent order out on Friday that was the easiest part now waiting until John gets his springs in is the hard part.
Thanks for everyones help :)
