I got the transmission warning light on in my '99 disco 1 the other day. I checked the tranny, and the dip stick was covered in foam. Now, I checked it again in the morning and it seems way over filled. The only thing it could be is water. I power washed the undercarriage of my truck to clean off all of the salt, but I've done this before and never had a problem. I was wondering if there is some opening on the top of the automatic transmission that could allow water in?

There are breather hoses that can let water in. If water did get in, the fluid would be pinkish and milky. Like a strawberry shake. Get your tranny flushed and your filter replaced, cheap insurance.
If any real damage was done, it will show up in the filter.
