will 265/70 r 17's, on Predator alloys, fit my s1 disco. 1" lift alround or will I have to cut the arches. They are a 31" tyre.

a safer bet would be 255-60-17's - this is stock diameter of the magic 29.1" that fittment sound height wise ok with a bit of trimming - but might be too wide and high. how brave do you feel laddie?

yes, but there is only one option in 255/60. Pirelli Scorpion Zero. 265/70's have a much larger selection from pure road to full on mud.
I am also planning to fit air suspension from a classic RR Vogue SE/LSE if possible. ie loads of clearance off-road and good anti roll on-road.

ah - the missing ingrediant! - eas from a ranie. if you are going to run the air bladders - then i imagine you should be fine. might want to check out
www.rangerover.net
they have and extensive section of various tyre fittments -

best of luck
