I think I have finally decided on the combination I will go with. I am looking for both reassurance and last minute opinions. The decision has been made due to the fact that friday night, I blew apart my spider gears. I know I'll be doing 4.11 gears, but am still a bit aprehensive about what I'll put in for traction diffs. I was originally going to leave the front open, however, the appeal of a 4 pinion carrier overcame that idea. Please share your thoughts and opinions on this set up. Has anyone run a true trac in snow? Thanks in advance!

What kind of wheeling do you do? What kind of traction are you after? You're going to get the most traction benefits with f&r locking diffs -- like ARBs front and rear or ARB front and Detroit rear. If you think you'll ever want the lockability, better to go in to the diffs once than twice.
This has been harped on, but you'll want HD shafts if you lock up --- & especially in the rear and especially with the Detroit as, generally speaking, if an axle breaks with a Detroit, the Detroit will break, too. This is a possibility with the ARB as well, but, supposedly, the ARB can generally handle a couple of axle breaks before its toast. Personally, I'm open to running stock shafts with an ARB for a short time. With a Detroit, I wouldn't even try.

"What kind of wheeling do you do?" Josh prefers bunny trails and really wants the ARB for that big quarter panel sticker--very cool on the trail
I thought this was decided? TT front and ARB rear, and I will carry spare half shafts until you can afford the HDs
Sweet trail yesterday, Josh. I HAVE to wait untill the sliders arrive before going again. Scratching up the lower doors is really pissing me off.

Bunny hill eh? Thats why I took you up stuff you didnt think your truck could do right? Thats why I blew apart my spider gears without ever hitting a mud bog. Thats why I was able to follow a fully locked 4-runner around Tillamook right. It must be all that experience from the bunny hill. I guess its time for you to step it up and venture over to the bunny hill with the rear detroit and truetrac. You make sure and let me know! J

"Thats why I blew apart my spider gears without ever hitting a mud bog" . . . Would that be ignoring the same mud bog that you followed Scott through who also toasted his spider gears?
Following a locked 4-runner on logging roads is not something I would brag about
