Here's a new one for me... I spent the weekend wheeling and experienced zero problems (noises, thumps, cracks) with the suspension. Tonight I take the 1997 Disco to the car wash to knock the dirt off and now I hear this heavy THUMP from underneath the footwell on the drivers side.

Take off from a stop and THUMP. Pull to a stop and THUMP. Manuever over curb in neighbors yard and THUMP. Seems the THUMP started after something got wet. Bushings?

Not really sure what it could be but you might want to first start with your shock absorbers. The other week my rear left shock lower mount sheared right off and kept making a light thumping noise when it moved around.

Also, you might want to check whatever gets loose under the body - exhaust, etc.

Jay, was that a stock lower mount? Better throw it through Kyle's 'window'

Ron, first check that things are tight in the front suspension. I have some popping (not really thumping) coming from the front suspension and suspect that changing the panhard rod and radius arm bushings will do the job.

No, actually it was a from a set of Yellow/Blue HD Bilsteins that were installed a year ago!

I couldn't believe it myself.
