Need to find source of Canadian or USA company that sells big fog lamps, also will i need larger alternator to run 2 or 4 lights my Disco II is a 2001 c/w 130amp alternator.

If I might suggest something, If you are looking for physically big lights, take a look at Lightfroce RMDL240, they are 9.7 in (247mm) in diameter and extremely bright...trust me I drove in front of a Classic RR equipped with them on a night run. if you go with hella hid (xenon) lamps - they are very low draw and the larger alternator would not be needed. if hellas float your boat give me a shout

Hella 4000s are always good, and unlike the HID versions, the selling of your first born is not required to finance them. No new alternator needed with a couple (or even a couple couples) new lights.

Also i forgot to ask if anyone knows some really great toggles or switchs to run the lights with that look great and are durable(ones that dont have the toggle switch explode when you use them in -35 degrees celcius) regards to all LEE

I'll put my two cents in for LightForce as well. They are brighter than anything NEAR the price range and only draw 100 watts each. Despite the recent discussion about them being plastic, I can assure you they are literally bulletproof. At about $250 a pair, they are a heck of a bargain.
I'm not sure they will fit on the stock brushguard but that's easy to check. They are VERY large though. Even the midsize ones are as bright as the Hella 4000s and are cheaper and will surely fit. I know Jay Allen has 3 on the front of his disco and a picture of his truck is in the gallery here on Discoweb.
As for switches, A few people make good ones, but the sealed rocker switches by COle Hersee are about as good as it gets. They are impervious to sand, grit, and most water. They are often use as external switches on boats with no ill effects for MANY years. Try your local marine store or look them up at www.colehersee.com. Interesting note is that ARB rebadge these sealed rocker switches for their locker switches.

Man , dont hack the shit out of the interior for light switches. Go and get the LR switches for the truck and you have a nice clean install. As for lights,,,well , the Hella 4K kicks allot of ass and unlike the light force they have a metal housing. I have ripped limbs and shit off of trees with my rack lights and no fuss no muss , do that with the light force and see what you get. Avoid plastic things that hang off , we have all seen what happens to it.

What's the story with you and the LightForce lights? Do you have any experience with them at all or are you just putting them down because you've seen OTHER plastic lights fail?

Perrone , plastic is plastic. thats it. If its plastic and its hanging off it will get ripped off. Hell , I have had metal items ripped off the truck. DOnt give me the f-16 crap again , its a big plastic light. They get some candle power from a giant reflector and that impresses most...
Some sun and a little time and they will get brittle , then the next thing you know you F-16 will have popped its canopy...

the best way is to go to hella north america's website (just do a google search on hella) and pick out what interests you - email me the part#'s and i'll email you a price. if it works for you great - if not then thanks for asking.
also if you go to hella germany site - which is oddly labelled 'sorry'?? they have a thing called the 'light tunnel' where you can compare the light beams of the various lamps on a light 'range'.... that is cool! the most awesome lamp is the motorsport 4000hid - and of course these cost a king's ransom - but you cannot get any better and they draw 35 watts! - the regular 4000's are a great conventional metal housed lamp at a fraction of it's bigger brother.
there also is a new 'budget xenon' the 200 or the 300 series, as the silver micro variants - so take a look and let me know.

Is it realy fog lights you want? If it is, brightest isn't nesasarily best. Also, you do *not* want them mounted high. For fog light use, you want them as close to the road as possible. I'm making brackets for the bottom of my bumper that let them pivot up if I bump anything, or lock them up when offroading.
