I hit a mound of dirt when I was climbing a hill the other day and got slightly stuck for a second. Ever since, when ever I turn toward the wheel left it makes a creaking sound and it acts like it wants to continue turning in that direction. I have to grab the wheel and straighten it out myself. It doesn't do this when I turn the other direction. Can anyone offer suggestions as to why this might be?

You are talking about grabbing the steering wheel to straigthen it out, I presume? Otherwise, you have some serious issues.... :)
Sounds like you might have damaged your steering dampener.

I came down hard on a hidden boulder in a stream bed in May and bent the steering damper on my 1995 RR Classic. Felt like power steering went out. Checked under front end and sure enough, the thing looked like a boomerang!

...sounds like some people still need to see the light when it comes to getting that POS damper off the track rod and up front where it belongs :)

If you hit it hard enough, the only thing that'll get you back on the road again is a SawzAll...
