I would like to use a british army sankey trailer on my disco 1 if I fit a NATO hitch to the top holes in the reciever and change the tyres from 650/16 to 205/16 on disco steal rims i hope the ride hight will be right ,
the electrics will need changing from army to civilion spec but thats no problem. I know you guys get sankey 3/4 ton trailers from rovers north and others so some one must of done it before any advise?
will i get the reicever any higher with a dixon bate drop hitch ?
i notice the camel trophy discoverys have the hitch mounted on the rear cross member is it re-enforced ?

Yes

You can buy tow plates which go into a 2in reciever that have plates welded on to fit a standard four hole pintle hood as required for a sankey. Ideally I think you want to fit a rotating coupler
