Hi,

You may recall my original post regarding this. I just made a run from New Hampshire to Buffalo, New York and it did the same thing again...once. Once there I spent about fifteen minutes under the hood looking hard for the root of the problem. In addition to 3 spark plug wires not in their clips, I found a loose hose clamp on the PVC valve.
Never had the problem on the way back to NH from Buffalo.
Tightening the hose clamp might have done the trick. This would probably explain why the occassional brief drop in idle speed would happen while sitting in traffic. I'll keep you posted as time goes by. I'm thinking this all stemmed from the work under the hood at the 90K servicing.

Thanks,
-Dave Sayward

If you have an automatic, you better check the fluid. White smoke could indicate the modulator valve on the transmission is going bad (sticking) and sucking fluid into the motor. Will give you a nice valve job but will also rob the transmission of fluid.
