It wounds like it's catching on something, but there isn't anything I can see! Any suggestions?
Thanks!

What year truck ?
The 95/96/97 MY's had known issues with wear on some of the plastic bearing (rubbing) surfaces that would cause loud snapping noises on closing. The only cure was a retro-fit kit.
The front roof in my 96 does this (again).

if you look at the rear of the sunroof, there is a latch on both sides. this latch is pushed back when the roof is opened. the roof is catching on this. i believe the dealer replaced the rails when i took it in before my warranty ran out. i believe that they said that the push back springs were worn. mine sticks every once in a while.

for temporary releif, you can add some grease to those plastic things. also check to make sure the glass is bolted on tight. those little bolts get loose and the glass moves and causes rattles while open

If grease...lithium grease....offroading the grease may attract dirt...so lightly grease.

Yes, I use waterproof mountain bike grease meant for chains.

Danno,
That sounds like the same problem I have. I called the dealer and they said my best bet was to get them both fixed since the back one would have the same problem sooner or later and it's the labor that gets you. About $700.00 for both.

My dealer said the plastic rails broke, so they replaced them with metal ones. thank goodness it was a warranty issue.
