I think we were talking about shaving the frame horns down a bit, not the whole damn body! That is pretty cool, looks like it was a 3-door to begin with. Not much in the way of cargo room anymore, unless you delete the rear seats, which would also be cool...where did you come across this?

Have you all seen steven shuback's (man I know I spelled that wrong) bob tailed RR. That thing is nice.

apparently bobtailed rangies are somewhat common across the pond, the only bobtailed rigs ive seen here are toyota pickups...

Ho - you spent way too much time grabbing faces from that jeeper board! Now your short messages will be really short!

But the faces say it all. I think SmokinHo is the best
By Blue Gill (Bluegill) on Wednesday, August 22, 2001 - 12:24 pm: Edit |
hey, that jeeper board is good for some laughs. We need a photogallery section on this board called "Official Recovery Vehicle" with pictures of all our recoveries!
By Steve (Steve2) on Wednesday, August 22, 2001 - 12:26 pm: Edit |
is it me or does the bobtail have a freelander esque look to it? and as far as the disrangery that is weird! - but don't laugh as we might actually get a lwb of the new rangie model!s

Sources say the Freelander design was inspired by the bobtail Disco. I've always thought a RR tray back would be the way to go if want to butcher a LR

Wow!

getting done to my classic right now. It'll be ready for OTR moad 01. 18" cut and shut. biggest obstacle has been the fuel tank/delivery system. I bought a d90 tank/pump/sender etc... to fit in factory location. Damn, I can't wait!

Craig,
when do you think you're gonna get this bad boy back? I'd like to come by and see what it looks like. I thought you just got some 35s put on it.

Can anyone tell what kind and size the tires on that Disco (the first picture) are? I think those would look good on my 96 SE

The stretch RR w/ the Disco roof looks good -- I've always liked the round headlights, grill and hood of the RR classic.
Is it possible to mount the RR hood and grill/headlight assy. on a Disco I?

That chopped Disco is actually sitting on another vehicles chassis - the J plate is 1970/1 vintage.
Adding Rangie nose isn't that difficult given that the Discovery uses rangie inner frame, but the fender to door bit doesn't quite look right take a close look at the next classic you see

i saw a disco fitted with a rangie front clip in the UK, it was on the street, so i couldnt ask anyone about it. it looked very clean but who knows how much custom work was needed to be done. the bobtail is sitting on an old range rover chassis, theres an article on it @ www.difflock.com
