Sorry, I couldn't resist...
Who walks the stairs
without a care
It shoots so high in the sky.
Bounce up and down
just like a clown.
Everyone knows its Slinky.
The best present yet
to give or get
The kids will all want to try.
The hit of the day
when you are ready to play
Everyone knows it's Slinky.
It Slinky, Its Slinky
for fun
the best of the toys
It Slinky, Its Slinky
the favorite of girls and boys.
By Blue Gill (Bluegill) on Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 01:24 pm: Edit |
Damn, that could be $G's jingle
I was talking about my locker.
I would also like to take this opportunity to expound on the virtues of my plastic hella lights

What walks down stairs? Alone or in pairs? And makes a slinkety sound?
A thing! A thing! A marvelous thing!
Everyone knows it's Slinky.
It's Slinky! It's Slinky! For fun it's a wonderful toy.
It's Slinky! It's Slinky. It's fun for breaking down on trails.

By RVR OVR (Tom) on Friday, August 24, 2001 - 04:25 am: Edit |
Don't worry, L_Tilly, I think Kyle will laugh as all this stuff is obviously in good fun.
Kyle has given us all good advice at one time or another. Shit, when I had some T-Case trouble he tracked me down on the weekend to help and I had never even talked to him before. Great guy in my book.

somebody's gonna sh*t ... is somebody attending anger management courses for the next 4 days? btw, stock shock mounts and rear trailing links are the strongest part of the Discovery
By al hang on Friday, August 24, 2001 - 04:30 am: Edit |
Laugh.. really? I don't think so, first thing that
will pop into his head is, "those fuckers!" followed by some form of verbal abuse.

"those fuckers!" followed by some form of verbal abuse.
hehehe, we can just LOL his abuse to death...but Tom is right....a just sense of good humor will prevail...great guy, willing to help, not always right(LOL)but tries hard. And stock Woodheads with a 3 1/2" lift?...damn,he will come around..Lol...his frame is gonna break from all the drilled holes for relocating his "stock" shock mounts...lol
By L_Tilly on Friday, August 24, 2001 - 06:07 am: Edit |
Definetly all in good humor. I've seen Kyle give as good / better than he gets around here...not to mention the j**p board.
My "accident" comment was meant to side-reference the "conspiracy" comments of the disapearing LRNA & rust thread, but didn't come across well I guess. Ah well...maybe if I can get one of those Discoweb hats w/ the optional Kyle-tail my flair for projecting sarcasm will improve. ;-) Rover-on!

Good idea....we will all get "kyles pony hat"
and then we will all think and look alike....besides just looking cool with our "tail" flowing out the window as we tool down the road.

what happens if you wear that hat backwards?

You better have LOTS of Discoweb stickers on your rig before you take THAT chance!

Well, about time for Kyle Van Hassel to check in on the board...damn...we are doomed...lol...wearing the pony hat backwards means we are driving in reverse?
By Moe on Friday, August 24, 2001 - 06:44 am: Edit |
"what happens if you wear that hat backwards?"
That's a new technique best left to the bedroom

Hat backwards=hanging a "rat"

All of this is Interesting, Very Interesting.....
Though not terribly surprising...
By Eric N (Grnrvr) on Friday, August 24, 2001 - 08:09 am: Edit |
Is there a particular base ball cap that he wears? I was thinking that I might have to get the cap and put a pony tail on it. Wear it while we are wheeling and see what he says My only concern is if I get stuck he may leave me there and say "Who's laughing now!"
By Ron on Friday, August 24, 2001 - 08:11 am: Edit |
s there a particular base ball cap that he wears
He does not wear a hat it would mess up his hair.

By John on Friday, August 24, 2001 - 09:17 am: Edit |
Maybe that what Kyle means when he talks "stealth"...he carries this big sword...LOL
By Discovenger on Friday, August 24, 2001 - 02:22 pm: Edit |
Time to take up a collection for Blue Gill. His next mod HAS to be a cape! I'm in for the first 10 bucks.....anyone else?
Karen
By Eric N (Grnrvr) on Friday, August 24, 2001 - 05:57 pm: Edit |
I got ten bucks. Will the cape be made out of pony tails? Hope Kyle has a good sense of humor.. He should know we are only giving him something funny to read for when he gets back.
By Enrique Loveshackle on Saturday, August 25, 2001 - 02:36 pm: Edit |
Did he throw those damn whale shit shoes out his window yet? And everyone knows only fags where ponytails like that. BTW, I hear he really has a $G 3-link in Slinky and is pissed because he can't make his Detroits work like ETC. Hey, gotta call it like you see it!

By Kyle Van Tassel (Kyle) on Monday, August 27, 2001 - 05:58 pm: Edit |
LOL , ok bastards , you will pay.... John , well , I think if you get out a bit more in some real shit you will find out on your own that the slink is worthless. It might look like the cats Meow at the freaking MAR or the pouserfest but thats a long ways off from being the real shit , now aint it? I suppose thats just my one track mind not seeing the complexities of it all. My simple mind is just satisfied with getting it done...
As for you others , my shit is still batting a thousand..
Now let me run down this and give each of you a small degree of shit..
Blue Gill: You just posted last week that your ARBs were not working on some trail I dont think I need to say any more about that.
John: Your truck is sitting level because its propped up by the bumpstops!! You know , the ones that keep it from stuffing a tire? The ones that will have to be replaced over and over cause the truck is always on em? Yes!! Thats them , the ones that are on there so the jeep tires dont eat off any more metal then you have already hacked..
Eric: Consult Roberto about being stuck and needing to get out....
Tom: Consult regular trip mates for what happens to this equipmment that I regularly knock when I am around. Some examples from this week end are floating around. How far is it to the bad lands??
The rest of you will pay , I dont know how yet,,,but you will pay.
I will throw you a bone though. After running through some pretty decent type shit all week end and coming out unscathed. I backed into Axles Disco in Findlays freaking driveway!!! Can you say sleep depravation?
Kyle
Yes , I laughed my ass off when I read this.. I still am... LOL
By herky on Monday, August 27, 2001 - 06:05 pm: Edit |
Thats it? Man 4 days for that? Even after all the slinky talk? You are going to wait for your chance to strike. Hopefully not when one of us needs help!!!!!!!!!!!
By Karen Jones on Monday, August 27, 2001 - 06:08 pm: Edit |
ROTFLOL! We build the men tough here in Maryland! We saw a white DiscoI on 695 today Kyle, and I immediately wondered if it was you. Getting closer I saw it was stock, but it made me look! Yikes, how bad was the damage to the trucks from the driveway incident???? Sounds like a fun trip to that point.

Some how I have a feeling that when we go wheeling I'm gona be in trouble I can already see it now. "Oh, you want my ramsey winch to pull you out of that? Hmmm, I seem to remember a thread on my board where you guys were screwing around while I was gone. Who's laughing now mr. funny man!!" says Kyle while I'm up to my waist in mud and stuck badly and he is laughing at me while polishing his nice shiney winch and playing with his pony tail. It was all in good fun though. So what did you do to Roberto Kyle?
By Kyle Van Tassel (Kyle) on Tuesday, August 28, 2001 - 04:14 am: Edit |

kyle, you know damn well that picture doesn't do it justice. albert and i were talking about that last week,,, he tells me then that he thought i was going to roll.
i believe you called ho or ax and described the situation before you hooked the winch up to me.
i hope everyone realizes i met you for the first time that day
and your accident up north... i thought i warned you about 'fatigue'
rd
By Kyle Van Tassel (Kyle) on Tuesday, August 28, 2001 - 04:33 am: Edit |
WEll , Axels only complaint over the radio was 'You scratched my mud!" it was a bumper to bumper kinda deal. But yes , you are right. fatigue. We saw a good example the night before as the gang started to fall apart in a Canadian mud pit.

By Rob Davison (Pokerob) on Tuesday, August 28, 2001 - 06:02 am: Edit |
but i couldn't get out of the car to confinrm that could i? so i had to rely on a stranger(you) who later that night got his ass whipped by a bone stock wrangler.
By Kyle Van Tassel (Kyle) on Tuesday, August 28, 2001 - 06:09 am: Edit |
Indeed , that little TJ handed out an ass whipin on that hill climb..
Kyle
By al hang on Tuesday, August 28, 2001 - 06:35 am: Edit |
I thought he (rob) was going to flip cause of the way the skid plate was hitting, not letting him crest the last couple feet of the hill.
By Eric N (Grnrvr) on Tuesday, August 28, 2001 - 11:09 am: Edit |
Well, guess it's a good thing that I haven't put that on yet.. I figured from what every body said that I would wait till I got a lift before putting the anchor on. So it sits on the storage room floor for now.
