well 4 years has taken it's toll on the old pipes. going to get another Flowmaster custom cat-back installed tomorrow. i had the standard 50 series (3 chamber) on there, but i am going with the new Delta-Flow 40 series (2 chamber) that has additional noise cancellation fins, to reduce resonance and lower the internal sound level, from the Flowmaster site, it DF-40 should be a tad quieter than the standard 50 series.
i'll let you guy's know the results tomorrow, and if i can find my SPL meter, measure the before and after.

of course...i'll send them to ho again.
BTW, i did find my SPL meter, so i can compare the standard 50 series and the Delta-Flow 40 series.

I am anxious to hear your findings. I have to put a cat back system on and have heard that the Borla is loud. How much did your set up cost? I am in Saint Louis. I assume that you had a muffler shop to the job?

what is this delta-flow BS anyway? i just ordered a 50 series for 79.95, and there was a "delta-flow" one for 109.95. whats the difference? the lady at summit said that the deltaflow is quieter. i thought to myself, if i wanted quiet, why would I be putting on a a Flowmaster in the first place?? the mind ponders...

Brett the Bolra is not loud.
Why are you guys using FM? Dynomax muffs are 1/2 the price and are no were near as obnoxious and flow better.

here's the results...
50 series (3 chamber)
Inside Sound Level 86db
Outside Sound Level 98db
40 Series (2 chamber) Delta-Flow
Inside Sound Level 78db
Outside Sound Level 92db
the tone is still the same, so it's not worth posting a wav-file
$79.95 for a 50? you got screwed. they should be about $68. the 40 Delta flow is $72.95 from summit, and the 50 Delta-flow is $89.95 from Summit.
Cost:
$78 for the Flowmaster (when down to Summit in Akron, OH)
$16 for a new exhaust olive from the dealer
$75 for the install, which included new pipes.
