Just a FYI:
My check engine light was on... 95 disco
Followed the usual reset options to no avail so I disconnected the battery and it reset everything!
Light is now out and I get no reading on my display under the seat!
Therefore, no need for new O2 sensors!
Just thought somebody may find this useful.

I'll be trying that tonight when I get home! I've been living with the light for 4 weeks and the tape covering the light keeps falling off.

I thought everyone knew about this simple reset procedure several months ago...almost over a year ago since its been discussed...and we even said it last week when the topic was about 02 sensors.....maybe this should be posted under the tech section....it would probably help everyone in the future......Just disconnect the negative battery terminal.....make sure you wrote your radio code down somwhere if you don't have your owners manual readily available...and leave it off for about three minutes..and Voila' no more check engine light for the folks in the cars next to you to see......

This only works on the older models. I think '96 and older. I tried it on my '98 and no luck. So I left the darn thing off all night once and it still didn't work.

Well whadyaknow!. I've got a 95 and it worked, but that makes no sense to me. If the o2 sensors are failing, which made the light go on in the first place, why wouldn't the light just come back on after hooking the battery back up? (not that I'm bitching, but it sure is weird)

These can be reset with any OBD-2 scanner. Any garage will have one. They will probably charge you an hour of labor to do it (it takes 5 minutes, including smoke break). Or you can come here and I'll do it just for the sheer pleasure of it

my local LR Dealer charges 38 bones to do it. I even told them what the problem was, they didn't care.

Again, I'm not bitching, but why would the light not come back on if the sensors were really bad? Mateo, what year do you have?
