I am looking to add a new sound system to my car but before i do i wanted to know how many watts the stock speakers on and the amplifiers. Please post any specsyou may have on the 1997 disco's stereo.

If your looking for better sound start with the speakers. I replaced all of mine and the difference was amazing! I'm replacing the stock 90watt amp next and then the stock subs with JL 6.5" subs and a 200wat sub amp. I went with Rockford Fosgate In the front and rear.

The rear have Fanatic-X FNX1514 and the front have Fanatic X Component FNX1414 . The 414 fit the stock door speaker pocket like stock.

were you able to fir the 6.5's in the stock location in the rear door?

i put MB Quart's in the front. have amps from my old cars, just haven't put them in.

Yea the stock LR subs are 6.5". The JL subs are sweet and my local shop wanted 110.00 ea for them and I found them on-line @ wholesaleaudio.com for 53.00ea

I have two cerwin vega 124 12inch subs in the back in a 4.5 cubic foot box and a 900 watt amp. also just today because i had some speakes i am not going to use in my boat for awhile i put in the front doors pioneer 4 inch 2 way speakers 15rms 60max and in the rear pioneer 6x9 4 way speakers 60rms 260max and it is so much better than the stock even with out my subs. i will not be amble to keep the 6x9's in becasue they are sitting on the floor now but i might try to add them permanently.
