I just put a set of 245/75's this weekend. They're great! I can tell I'll have some problems at deep articulation but for now they don't rub or cause any problems even w/ my waverunners on back. I'll installing a lift in the next couple weeks but got a smokin' deal on the tires so I had to jump on them ($200 for Dunlop MT's, 60-80% tread left). I had to trim a little of the front endcap, probably should cut it off but the wife likes the spoiler in front, and its her ride so I couldn't do too much. I love the look though, can't wait for the lift.

So you put 245/75s on a stock disco and they run fine on the road?

Steve,
It's pretty standardly a flogged horse around here... just enjoy the ride!
BTW...
Lynden, is yours a DII or a DI Disco?

I know, I know, the tire issue is drawn out but obviously none us of here can remeber anything for longer than 30 minutes. Yeah, I put 245's on a stock DI. There are no problems, I can tell though that I need a lift before I venture off road again or I'll rub. So far so good though.

I just bought some new 245/70/R16 BFG TA KO. According to the specs at the BFG website, these wider tires should fit in the 7" stock rims. Has anyone installed these tires. Will the extra 10cm of width create a rubbing problem on a stock Disco 1?

should not be a problem. a little adjustment on the bump stops should take care of the slight rub when wheels are turned all the way.

rovercon-
you mean 10mm's right- not 10cm's! other wise you'll need some 10" wide rims to stick those suckers on!

When it comes time to spend your own money, somehow you want your own thread. The fact that you have seen a few trucks and read a thousand previous messages isn't enough it seems.
We fools and our money...
Guilty too.
