Are the front brake lines on D-90s, Discos and RRs the same? I know earlier RR have 2 in front on each side where the disco and d-90s have 1 per side. Also in the rear is the D-90 one the same as the RR one? Also what are the rear disco ones, are they the same as the front or are the rear style like the d-90/RR.

Basically what are interchangeable.

TIA

Ron

D-90s have 3 (2 front 1 rear)
Discos have 4 (2 front 2 rear)
RR has 5 (4 front 1 rear)

My '96 Disco and '95 D90SW were set up the same way - 2 front, 1 rear and were interchangeable.

Thanks Troy. I bought the paragon performance D-90 set as it was on sale (still is). I will try to put it on there. I never checked how many were in the back of the disco, I just took the website info that it had four. Thanks again. Now to see if the fronts fit the RR axles on the 110. Probably get two more sets to make that work.

Ron,

The Disco has two rear brake lines, ala four *channel* system.

Do your front Paragon lines have swivel fittings?

I have Paragon set from 1997 that do not have swivel fittings. The rear went in fine, but the front lines would not accept the spring clip from the body-mounted brake line holder. So, I used SG lines that I had laying around (since I was short on time).

I really like the Paragon lines though and want to install them on the front. They meet DOT tests and have a kevlar sheath beneath the stainless braid. I'm planning to make new mounts, unless Paragon now offers fittings that fit the stock mounts (to accept the spring clip).

No swivel fittings. I think I can adapt them though. My $G catalog just came and it had a $100 gift certificate in it (SCORE!). I was going to get one of the d-ring reciever puller things and a damper relocation kit put the S.O. is like "I don't want to snap another brake line" so maybe that is what it will go toward :-(

Tom,
I have a question, what do the rear ones look like? Are they identical to the front or do they have a different fitting on one end and are a bit shorter.

Ron,

The front and rear have different fittings. The rear have externally threaded (male) fittings, while the front have internally threaded (female) fittings.

Let me know if you want to work through the install together. I'm a ROVERS member and live in Western NJ. We're practically neighbors!? I've got a great pressure bleeder too...

E-mail me direct if you want to set up a shop time at or my home e-mail as posted.

Ok,

Check your email. Looks like I am going to be buying some SG lines with my gift certificate :-(
But a shop day would be fun. I got some accessories that need to go on and I am sure there is some stuff to do on your truck as well.

What happens without extended brake lines:

Ron,

What suspension are you running that caused the line to break?

I have OME springs and shocks and SG drop kit. I ran stock lines without sway bars for over a year before changing to stainless lines. There was no way this set-up could over extend the stock lines, even in the rear.

In fact, I feel the front SG lines are too long and sit too close to the front tire on the drivers side. You really need a 3 inch lift to fully utilise these lines, or some front geometry changes to give more droop.

Warn XT shocks in front (which are apparently long travel) and OME HDs. Oh the sway bar was ON. It happened here:

I think the front end hit and bounced back, over extending the line. I am sure 3in springs will be in the disco's future so the SG lines will be ordered, hey they are free with the gift certificate.

Ok,
I have got this figured out now. Rockware and SG both sell Earls. SG is $25 and I don't know about RW. Paragon Performance makes their own and the D-90 fronts are the same as the disco fronts, so you can buy the d90 kit for $43 from them and then buy the rears from SG or RW, or I suppose purchase a d-90 kit and seperate PP disco rear or do it right and shell out 133 for the disco extended set of four. Bonus with the D90 kit is that you get a rear line which you can resell.
