I have just purchased an ARB for my Disco II and I have been following the posts of their problems, and I would like to have it welded up so as to prevent rotation. Can anyone tell me where exactly to weld it? I am having a shop do this work for me, so I need to give them the instructions on where to weld. Thanks in advance!

Chris

Perhaps you should return the ARB and get some other bumper, like the RTE. It seems that there are some serious concerns as to the "ruggedness" of the ARB.

At this point, I can't. Too much money to shell out presently. Just going to reinforce it and watch out. If it happens again, time to can it. No pun intended.

I have the ARB non airbag version, so I'm not sure if this is applicable. I welded mine (3x 1/4" tacks on each side) along the trailing vertical edge both sides of the frame. I have yet to really put it to the test with the sudden upward bump that seems to offend these otherwise solid bumpers so.

Cheers,

Erik

Hey slider, sure, just can't get down there before the vacation to Ocean City MD. Lars is going to do the brakes and the bumper (minus the welding) for those trailing arms. No more, no less. I figured if I gave into that idea, he will be an asset in the future. I was going to leave my vehicle with him for the time I'm down there so he doesn't feel rushed and can take his time. The welder we use for the FD may do my cans for free and she's local and very reputable so it may be easier just to go there for now. I'm still pricing out some HD springs and shocks. Got a price from Nathan Crabtree for $475.00 plus S/H for the lot. I don't know if that is the best price but it sure looks like it. We have to get the families together soon. I'll give you a yell really soon. Bogged down with some OT that was waiting for me from last month. Need to work them and get them out of the way before they disappear.

Take care buddy,
Christian

Plenty of beer will come your way regardless.
haha.
