I would like to buy some Husky Floor Liners for my Disco Series 1 but apperantly, Husky doesn't make them (only the rear cargo one). They do make them for the Series II but I was told by a salesman that they would fit my Disco 1 because there was too much of a differance in the front liner.

I haven't had the pleasure to drive a Series II but I was wondering how much have they have changed the floor pan that these liners wouldn't fit in the Series 1. I know they are customed molded, so I can see how they wouldn't fit perfectly, but maybe they wouldn't too far off.

Basically, I am looking for some floor liners to trap the mud and snow that I may drag in. Are there any other liners that would serve a similar function?

Thanks

The DII is longer and wider in back so I wouldn't think you'd be too pleased with the fit. Look on e-bay or post in the WTB section here, and you may be able to find OEM matts from someone returning a lease. I got the full set of matts (fronts, back and loadspace) for $85 that were practically new.

I see. But how different are they in the front? I am just looking to buy the front floor mats (liners).

$85 is an excellent buy for three things. I saw some Land Rover "molded rubber" floor mats for $169 and that is way too much money just for the front mats.

Husky liners are usually around $70-90.

Thanks for the suggestion.

OH! Don't know how different the fronts are. LR list for the front and rears was ~$169 and the loadspace was another ~$150 something. Why not go to the dealer, try it for fit, and then make your decision? By the by, I use the dealer every so often to give me a list of needed repair items, i.e. give me a list of everything wrong, price it, and then rank it in terms of importance. 1) They are anal about looking for stuff 'cause they're in it for the dime, and 2) It makes me feel better when I fix it and compare the costs. I've got two dealers in town, so I figure once or twice a year, and they won't catch on that I won't spend money on their service.

how much do you pay them to have this inspection?

I have three dealers within 1 hour of my house. I have only gone to the nearest one so far right after I bought my Disco (used). They charged $120 for their 800 point inspection but it is mostly a visual thing. I don't know exactly what does their term "visual" means since they charge $110/hr for their repairs. If that 800 point visual inspection is done in like an hour, I can't imagine they really look close at things.

Has anyone done this inpection? Is it worth it?

I haven't paid anything, and the reason may be that I haven't taken it in under a program like the 800 point inspection. When taking it in, I point out the obvious "leaking here or there", which they can always find, and they then tend to look more closely at other areas, and usually come back with a minimum $1,000 estimate. One example: leaking power steering fluid, steering box "probably bad", $800. Well, I say, I just can't afford that right now, but I'll keep an eye on it, while I'm holding my shoeless 1 year old. I then go home, replace the obviously leaking ps clamps, and all is fine. Another example: about to burst hoses, $500 to $600. I new it was about time to replace but couldn't imagine paying them $450 in labor,to change hose clamps. Look up all of the hoses for a '95, and you'd be hard pressed to spend more than $150, and it took 2 hours, start to finish.

Good luck!
