a couple of days ago i went to start my 95 disco and boom...it cranked but no start. after two trys the car started no prob...i read the other post, but wanted to address this again...I was out of the country for a few months and my girlfriend took the car in for a tune up (before this there was no problem), everything was done..spark plugs (NGK are these any good?), wires (8mm), distributor cap, fuel filter etc etc were all replaced..so again this evening after driving and starting the car several times it did it again..this time it took about 5 seconds before it cranked all the way over. I turned the car off again once it started and voila it cranked over no problem..hmmm could it be the battery? the car also sat in storage for about a month while i was gone with the battery disconnected...this did not happen before the tune up..any ideas would really be appreciated..thanks in advance to all who answer...

When it's started - does it run okay? When you rev the engine slightly can you hear a misfire? If so, could be poor leads, bad plug(s) or the dissy cap.
Check fuel intakes. The boom could be from unburnt fuel building up, then exploding as piston and spark meet at the right time. Timing could be out if they've done a poor job of your service.
Just a thought - dont flame me

NGK have a good reputation on this board. Do a keyword search on NGK and Magnecor and see how often their names come up.
