What's the maximum towing weight for the disovery?

2.5 TDi model, or TD5

Friend is thinking of buying one, needs to tow his boat with it.

Thanks
Horness.

I have a 96 4.0, and the max towing weight is like 3,300 with an unbraked trailer, 5,500 for a braked trailer, and 7,500 in low range. I think those are the right numbers.

I tow a 17' center console boat, and to be quite honest, I stuggle going up hills and such. I put my boat behing a suburban once and didn't even know it was there. The disco ain't no suburban. That's good, because I don't want no suburban.

The bottom line is, the disco gets the job done for me. And on slippery launches I'm glad I have it.

What kind of boat does your boy need to tow? How big?

I have both a Disco and a suburban (along with my Corvette, I guess I'm due for one of those "I'm changing the climate ask me how stickers)...

I tow two jet skis, behind the Suburban, you barely notice them. Behind the Disco, it doesn't have trouble towing them, but you notice them on the hills and I have to make sure the tongue weight is reasonable. On the suburban, I could have negative tongue weight and it wouldn't make any difference.
