Looking for a link to aftermarket parts; in particular, other sources for alternators. What else fits a 4.0 Disco? Obviously mine went out today, and I can't find one locally.

No guarantees, of course.

This company has been used successfully but on an earlier 94 Defender

over a year ago, my alternator went up and upon the recommendation of Trevor at Treasured Motorcar, I went with a high-capacity one. Sorry, but on Labor Day, this early in the morning, I can't recall the brand name. But it's powerful enough to run a welder off of it and it's been working fantastic since I got it.
A caveat - it does require considerable modification to fit the engine (new brackets, trimming of the fan shroud, etc) but I think it's well worth it.
Now I just need to learn how to weld...

Interesting! I went to look at the "Mean Green" Alternators. Only saw Starters.
Check out

They had rebuilt Alternators for $90 or there abouts. I had to rebuild my '95's alternator, about two weeks ago. They replaced the voltage regulator for $100.71
