Driving down the road and the ass end fell out of the bucket seat! It felt like some sort of support just fell out....i sank in the seat like 3 inches. Anyone have this happen before? What would you suggest? I was looking under it and it seems like im gonna have to remove the seat to get a better look! I have manual seats so it shouldnt be too hard! I would appreciate any feedback! Thanks Ahead of time!

Same thing happened to mine. There is mesh support with a rubber frame under the seat that runs across the "ass end". It is secured by a rod and hooks that are attached to the seat. The mesh ripped in half at the rubber frame. Have not got mine fixed yet, because it just happened as well. I need to find this part. If I can't I will fabricate something in its place. Let me know your progress.

I was thinking about buying a block of foam from a craft store .....cut to size and secure with HD Black rubber bungee straps. I plan to work on it round 4. I let you know exactly what I did and If it works!! I looked for the part....found one for a classic range rover but i bet it wont fit!

Just place a cut to size plank of wood in the seat cradle...much easier and cheaper than stripping the seat and wont break again ever!

To remove the seat cover. In the back bottom of the seat remove the 2 plastic cover that is connected by plastic tacks. Start in the back and pull the back of the cushion up. It has elastic on it. Then carefully go up both sides folding the cover holders up so the slip out of their groove. You can then remove the front by reaching under the seat and pulling in and down. This forces the clips to release the seat. You probably do not have to remove the cover fully. You will then see what everyone is talking about. It looks like it can easily replaced.

Good Luck.

Thanx for all of the ideas and help....I ended up going with my first idea and it seems to be working fine but is probably not a long term solution!

Yeah - the wood works.

The rear of the seats in my Series IIA Land Rover (1969) fitted with Toyota bucket seats fell out in 1997. Been around Australia since then with a piece of plywood wedged between the seat supports. Works great!
Only took half an hour to get the seat out.
