Hi,
If you look at the link: http://rojorover.net/socalrr/
the white rangie here appears to have a heim jointed front suspension. In my mind this is not going to be good if the brakes are used hard! Anyone any comments or experience with the same?
Is it as unsafe on road as it first appears?

Carl

Dead link.
Heims are fine for suspension and scary for steering.

The only thing that bothers me about the use heims (Aside from the shitty ride quality) I see used is that most fabricators are pretty cocky. To be a bit clearer. In the racing game the joints are used commonly. You see them everywhere. You also see safety straps around them in case of failure. Seems that some people know that "shit happens" and some dont.. In most cases considering how the joints are used, a failure is catostrophic. Its pretty ballsy to think so much of yourself and your design to not include the safety loops on there.

carl, that range rover has coil over shocks and custom made mounts.
it's an interesting setup.
kyle now has one as well, but, other than the "oh that's cool" it ain't much.

i even did a little page on that...
http://www.discoweb.org/coilover
it says "got travel?"
but now i think, it should say "got cash?"

:)

What's ironic is that the owner of that heim-jointed Rangie with the coilovers is named "Kyle".
