My 94 Disco again.....runs fine, but for the stmbling idle, passed NY emissions today but on way back from shop it misfired once and wont idle...stalls. Then when you restart it after the ECU resets it's fine again...with the stumbling idle. It is NOT the following, wires, plugs, rotor, dist cap , timing chain, camshaft, tps sensor....have fault code 21 on the box under the seat but the car drives fine and does 17 mpg easily.............ideas????????

Try swapping a known good ECU. And try swapping a known good IAC (stepper motor). Thats all I can think of other than perhaps clogged fuel injectors.

My sister in-law had a similar problem on her 95 Disco, less the stalling. Portland Land Rover dealer replaced the 02 sensor and the problem was fixed.
