I have been looking for brackets to mount a Hi-lift jack to the adventure rack and wanted to see what has been found to work ? One suggestion was using the Hi-lift brackets and then mounting those to the rack?

Thanks

David

i'm right there with you on looking for brakets.

ron, thanks for the right up as i didn't know there was one. my problem is i dont want to mount it on the inside of the rack and i dont want it on the side where it will obstruct the view out of the alpine windows.

i'll post pic's when i come up with something.

Rob,

you could mount it across the back using the same brackets I made. Our light was just in the way and alyssa wanted it on the side so on the side it went :) It is very close to the side of the rack and if we had taken off the bottom plate it would pretty much never hit anything. It did take a pretty good hit and the mounts just slide back a bit. No damage and it was at aboput 5mph.

Cheers

Atlantic British makes a mount that will work on the Adventure Rack. This is what I have. It will hang down a bit, but will work just fine. Trek Outfitters also makes a bracket, but I was not happy with the quality of the last products I bought from them.

I've seen people use the U-bolts to mount it to the rack, but I suspect that it would take a bit of time and effort to remove the jack from the rack.

Thanks,
Mike B.

Has anyone done mounting hi-lift jack on the spare tire's bolts on Disco II? where to get the mount? can we use hi-lift jack if we don't have any steel bumpers or sliders? Thanks

Hi-Lift can be mounted on your spare. Check with SafariGard (www.safarigard.com). It will rattle, so get some foam to quiet it up. You can easily make your own mount if you are handy with a welder.

You can use the Hi-Lift as a come-along and you can use it in your rear hitch receiver. It will work better if you get the Defender 110 bumper adapter (Atlantic British). There is no place to use it on the front bumper. It's way to weak. The rear bumper is too weak as well.

Thanks,
Mike B.
