Can I just upgrade my springs and not have to replace the shocks? I want to go to HD springs for both front and rear.

Yes. Works fine you can change shocks later if you like.

Thanks Ron,
I just put on a set of Edelbrock Performer IAS a and would like the benifit of the HD springs for towing my camper. I am also plan on adding a winch and bull bar to the front.

Sounds like you have a plan that will work. HDs do help with towing a lot.

Ron what springs do you recommend?
By Ron on Friday, September 07, 2001 - 05:51 am: Edit |
You would be well served with OME HDs www.expeditionexchange.com or www.rovertym.com 2in (when John gets them back in stock)
Cheers

I read something about upgrading the drive shaft will I need to do this if I only go to the 2in?
By Ron on Friday, September 07, 2001 - 06:07 am: Edit |
No, probably not. 3in becomes an issue. A properly balanced and greased driveshaft should not have issues at 2in.
Cheers

Jim,
I'm running the Rovertym 2" springs with stock drive shafts and have had no problems. If you have any questions about them - let me know.

By Art on Friday, September 07, 2001 - 06:39 pm: Edit |
Yea, you can run HD's all around.

I just put on the OME HD springs in the front and back. The Disco handles great. I purchased mine from Nathan Crabtree at [email protected]. Give him a try. He has great prices and customer service on all sorts of LR products.

can you run hd rear springs in the front end?
Not really as you will get 3in of lift and they will be really stiff for the front end. With a SG it might be ok but otherwise it is a no no
