This was in the latest G. Loomis catalog. (OK, so it's not a Disco, but it looks like a good time anyway!)

Nice rack. Can you make him turn around?

Karen,
Do you have rack envy?
I have a terrible case, because as long as I work were I work I probably can't have one. My truck can barely get into the garage with the sunroofs open.
Which reminds me,
Anyone know where I could find a very low profile roof rack? I need to keep my stuff away from my dogs.

Ok Andy My dogs are so nice they let me drive thier Disco as long as they get to go for a walk.
They love Disco's :):) That's why I treat them better than most people treat thier kid's. They will always love you no matter what :):)

Daniel,

LOL, I think you have so much rack envy you missed my female chauvinist pig type joke. Yes, I have ROOF rack envy, but hell, I have everything envy at this point. Trouble is, I know absolutely nothing, so my wallet stays safety stowed away until I learn something. I get to make my Disco as tall as I want though, because it's only ever parked under the clear blue sky. Maybe I'll get a double decker rack.....(G)

Heeheehee....Ho knows danger when he sees it!

Hey Ho, while we wait for me to quasi-learn something, howzabout we have a little religious chat? ROTFLOL!

Karen, x-post points! ;)

O.k., so I don't fish and didn't know what
G. Loomis was all about. I just looked at gloomis.com and on the home page there is a changing display of small pictures. What kind of fish is that MONSTER that's bigger than the guy who has him hooked? Looks like lake or river fishing and could they possibly want to put that creature in the boat? I'd sure be afraid if the mother fish was nearby......

I think he's casting his line to his mates on shore. Who don't want to wade in with the winch cable.

Holy cow, that's a tarpon? No wonder they say they are such a fighting fish, they are really COWS! Thanks for the info, Michael.

Shoot the Dogs!!!
They're half the reason I got the truck. You ever try to stuff 250 lbs of Rottweiller in the back of a sportscar? It only work until they decide to start beating up on each other.
Karen,
You don't have to rub it in. I feel bad anough already and my girlfriend (who doesn't yet understand this obsession, so let's all cut her some slack) wants me to get a hard top carrier in case it rains. This is for long distance trips, so I know mileage would be better w/a turtle top, but really, how much better can it be?
Can you say yuck?

Reeeally yuckky thought! Can that turtle top thought and get a RACK! A big, honkin' MANLY rack, son, LOL! Your girlfriend will learn to love and admire you on that basis alone. Do it, Daniel....you know you want to!

Karen ;)

Karen,
You're right. It's time I told her about MY feelings and MY needs.
Now if I could only do something about that damn parking garage...
;-)

Daniel,

Take your girlfriend's car to work. Hers HAS to be lower and she can bond with your Disco at the same time. I know, it would be painful to miss the commute in the Disco, but if you're serious about the girl AND the Disco, this plan would serve two masters. Or, find another place to park? Do whatever you need to do to get that RACK, man! Yes, your new mantra...."I have needs and I won't let my masculinity get in the way of expressing them." After you get your way, the rack will pump your testosterone right back up, and you can lust on for the next mod.....(VBG).

Karen, enabler

Daniel,

Glad to hear about the Rotties. I finally pulled the ultimate dog spoiling routine this weekend. I hard wired a 12vdc oscillating two speed fan in the cargo area so that he can stay COOL! That dog got it made I tell ya. Ronan is a two year old Rottie with HUGE paws!! LOL.

Ali,
You're almost as bad as I am. Whoever coined the phrase "A dogs life" obviously never met mine.
I don't have the fan, but I always and up with one big head hanging out of eack back window.
I can't keep those rear windows for anything.

Hey, you're near Chicago, right?
My girlfriend and I are fostering/rescuing Rotties that need homes. We have a full house now, but if you ever know any one who is looking, we can ALWAYS find them a good dog. Both of my dogs are rescue/abandoned and they are great. (Our second one was going to be a foster, but we like him too much.) We really only foster Rotties and usually there is a range of ages/male and female. We would love to find foster and/or permanent homes for more of these guys. If we don't have the exact Rottie someone is looking for, there are places we can direct people to.
(sorry everyone I know this is off topic, but this is a passion for me)

Daniel,

I feel a lot better about my doggie life after hearing yours! We were looking into Recycle Rotties before getting ours but didn't have any available at the time. I know my wife wants another one! She misses the pitter patter sounds of little paws on the tile. Hey lets get together at the Addison dog park one weekend afternoon. There're acres of water and fields for the dogs to run around.

Email me and we'll set something up. Rotties and LRs - what a bonus!

Ali,
Where is the Addison dog park? I believe I would need to get a pass? My girlfriend and I have been trying to get out there, but have only heard general directions.
I'll e-mail you and we'll set it up. Can you grill, etc out there?
Daniel
BTW Be happy she's missing the pitter patter of little paws, not little feet, right...
