It's a -96 with 130000km on the clock, Euro spec (not the GEMS, the earlier 3.9 version) with full LR maintenance.
I have basically not worked on it before, just left everything to the local dealer. But as age and miles adds up I plan to start to abuse my knuckles a bit...

To my questions:
1. When started warm the engine revs up but after that the rpm quickly drops down, sometimes to a stall sometimes just nearly. If I leave it alone, the rpm evens out OK after a few cycles (wrooom, stutter, wrooom, stutter etc...). If you move trans into drive during this, ie. in a parkinglot this behaviour can be very interesting.
Cold starting is OK, but when touching the throttle some stutter usually occurs as well.
Idle is normally OK, but some misfiring occurs.

2. At speeds between 50-130 km/h some low frequency noise and vibration sometimes occurs. I might be wrong, but it seems to happen more at right hand bends, could it be a wheel bearing?

3. When engine is hot a whirring noise could be heard at idle, rather loud but not high pitched like a water pump bearing. Could it something with the alt. (even though it was rebuilt a year ago after some charging trouble)

I'm sorry for asking many questions in one post and for not being more specific. Any comments or ideas on above are very welcome!

Thanks in advance,
T
