It seems many people are looking for rides home from the Airports they have been trapped in. I dont have all the details but maybe someone that does will read this. Once we have all the details it would be very nice if all the Disco owners out there could help out...

I'm about 14 miles away from Newark Airport (EWR) and would gladly volunteer. Anyone up to it, let me know by posting here. Unfortunately, my company email is not working. But I'll closely monitor Discoweb. BTW, are planes allowed to land in Newark now?

Newark closed again, so is JFK and LGA. They are questioning 10 individuals...you know the story...
From what I have been told they do not need any volunteers right now (except individuals with certain expertise: grief counselors, emt, etc...)
What they do need are things like Neosporene (sp), gloves, workshirts (old is ok), water, money and moral support.
My daughter has been going from home to home asking people to give what they can. She has been keeping a list of people who have been generous enough to give along with their signature (too many people running scams because of this tragedy). Maybe the schools in your area can do the same. Obviously if you are all the way over in CA it might take some time to get here but if you live in the tri-state are try to get the donations to your local Red Cross.
Blood donations are very important. I tried twice to give blood but was rejected because of the large turnouts, I feel sad about not being able to give BUT FEEL GREAT knowing that the blood banks are full!
I will try to head over to the local airports and see if I can assist anyone trying to get home. I'll let you guys (in CT, NY, NJ, PA) know if I could use your help.
I know that some drivers are needed in Manhattan to transport doctors from lower manhattan to other parts of the city since some subways and buses are not running.
I think we should get together in Manhattan one evening (when there is less traffic) and just show our support for the men and women desperatly working trying to find survivors and victims. Even if we just brought water and food and handed them out over by CHelsea Piers we would be contributing to their efforts. Let me know what you guys think.

Actually, why don't we shoot (not so good choice of words) for Sunday night. Anyone who wants to join us, please let me or John know by posting here. I'm hoping that Sunday late afternoon or early evening won't be as hard to get in the city anymore. If not, any weekday evening next week should be ok.
