Has anyone used any type of aftermarket ignition system on a Disco1. After some research, mallory tech support suggested their CD ignition part number 685 or similar MSD 6A unit.
Has anyone successfully installed this unit, please provide details and what extra parts was needed for the installation. It was also mention a Fuel inj and Tach adaptor maybe need to supply proper signal to the factory computer.
Thanks for response.

I assume you have a pre-coil pack disco (ie: with distributor) - haven't used an MSD box on a Dsico, but have used a number of variants on various street/strip vehicles - all with good results. On vehicles with stock engines and ignition systems it will show an improvment mainly if your existing components are getting tired, but you probably won't notice any huge seat-of-the-pants difference. Can increase mileage a bit, but only if you don't hammer down on it in with the better throttle response you'll get Realize also that you have to upgrade the coil and especially the plug wires or the MSD box won't do sh** for you. MSD makes an off-road version also - main difference is rubber mounting isolators and supposedly better internal damping/mounting of the circuitry.
Let us know how it turns out it you do it....
